The 99th presbytery meeting of the Philadelphia Presbytery of the Korean American Presbyterian Church is held as follows

Part 1: Opening Worship and Communion Service

At 10 AM, after singing hymn 292 led by Moderator Pastor Hae Geun Choi, we confess our faith with the Apostles' Creed, and after singing hymn 305, Pastor Seung Hwan Jeong prays.

After Pastor Hae Geun Choi read Proverbs 4:1-9, Pastor Seong Heum Lee preached a sermon titled 'To Learn and Teach,' and after singing Hymn 149, the communion service was administered by Pastor Dong Jin Jeon.

After Pastor Yang Myung Joo of Sarang Presbyterian Church prayed, Pastor Dong Jin Jeon read Matthew 16:21-24 and preached. Then, Elder Michael Hagan, administered the bread and wine, and after singing hymn 461, the opening worship and communion service
concluded with Pastor Dong Jin Jeon’s benediction at exactly 11:17 AM.

Adjournment: The meeting will be adjourned until 11:30 for preparation.
Resumption: Following the singing of hymn 320, the meeting re-commenced at 11:35 with a prayer led by Pastor Jae Cheol Lee.

Due to the absence of Elder Choi Byung-seon, Pastor Oh Kyung-chang presented the financial report on his behalf, and it was accepted as is.

Church Merger: The merger of Yesung Presbyterian Church and Sarang Jeil Church (new name: Yesung Presbyterian Church) was approved, as petitioned by Pastor Kim Sung-chul and Pastor Joo Yang-myung.

Joint Congregational Meeting: Held on February 2, 2025, with unanimous approval (29 members in favor).

Honorary Pastor Appointment: Approved the petition by Pastor Kim Sung-chul of Yesung Presbyterian Church to appoint him as an honorary pastor.

Ordination Qualification Request: Approved Pastor Jung Seung-hwan’s petition on behalf of Yuong Saeng Presbyterian Church for Mr. Park Jong-deok’s theological education and
ordination qualification exam by the General Assembly.

Honorary Pastor Appointment: It was announced that Pastor Kim Sung-chul of Yesung Presbyterian Church would be honored as a meritorious pastor upon retirement.

(2) Western District Session Report
A detailed report on the district’s status was received.

Sheep’s Gate Church Issue: A Resolution Committee was formed to investigate and resolve issues related to Sheep’s Gate Church.
